Because of your promise, and according to your own heart, you have wrought all this greatness, so that your servant may know it.


They have distributed freely, they have given to the poor; their righteousness endures forever; their horn is exalted in honor.


The Lord is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made.


The righteous know the needs of their animals, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel.


Those with good sense are slow to anger, and it is their glory to overlook an offense.


What is desirable in a person is loyalty, and it is better to be poor than a liar.


The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous are taken away from calamity,


Then Ebed-melech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, “Just put the rags and clothes between your armpits and the ropes.” Jeremiah did so.


And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
