For thus says the high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with those who are contrite and humble in spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.


But when the sun rose, they were scorched; and since they had no root, they withered away.


That one is like a man building a house, who dug deeply and laid the foundation on rock; when a flood arose, the river burst against that house but could not shake it, because it had been well built.


This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, because he abides with you, and he will be in you.


Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.


I in them and you in me, that they may become completely one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.


Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood abide in me, and I in them.


and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.


I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.


Now concerning food sacrificed to idols: we know that “all of us possess knowledge.” Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.


Examine yourselves to see whether you are living in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not realize that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless, indeed, you fail to meet the test!


What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will live in them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
