and he drove away all his livestock, all the property that he had gained, the livestock in his possession that he had acquired in Paddan-aram, to go to his father Isaac in the land of Canaan.


But he said to him, “Did I not go with you in spirit when someone left his chariot to meet you? Is this a time to accept money and to accept clothing, olive orchards and vineyards, sheep and oxen, and male and female slaves?


So they went after them as far as the Jordan; the whole way was littered with garments and equipment that the Arameans had thrown away in their haste. So the messengers returned, and told the king.


So Hazael went to meet him, taking a present with him, all kinds of goods of Damascus, forty camel loads. When he entered and stood before him, he said, “Your son King Ben-hadad of Aram has sent me to you, saying, ‘Shall I recover from this illness?’ ”


They have distributed freely, they have given to the poor; their righteousness endures forever; their horn is exalted in honor.


Send out your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will get it back.


a time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;


a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;


On that day people will throw away to the moles and to the bats their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which they made for themselves to worship,


Then the mariners were afraid, and each cried to his god. They threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea, to lighten it for them. Jonah, meanwhile, had gone down into the hold of the ship and had lain down, and was fast asleep.


And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields, for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold, and will inherit eternal life.


and on the third day with their own hands they threw the ship's tackle overboard.


After they had satisfied their hunger, they lightened the ship by throwing the wheat into the sea.
