Leah said, “God has given me my hire because I gave my maid to my husband”; so she named him Issachar.


and she named him Joseph, saying, “May the Lord add to me another son!”


As her soul was departing (for she died), she named him Ben-oni; but his father called him Benjamin.


While Israel lived in that land, Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine; and Israel heard of it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve.


The same day Moses charged the people as follows:


And these shall stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
