Therefore he raised his hand and swore to them that he would make them fall in the wilderness,


Therefore in my anger I swore, “They shall not enter my rest.”


Moreover I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land that I had given them, a land flowing with milk and honey, the most glorious of all lands,


Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them, and they were struck down in the wilderness.


See, I have set the land before you; go in and take possession of the land that I swore to your ancestors, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them and to their descendants after them.”


And the length of time we had traveled from Kadesh-barnea until we crossed the Wadi Zered was thirty-eight years, until the entire generation of warriors had perished from the camp, as the Lord had sworn concerning them.


For we have become partners of Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end.


Now who were they who heard and yet were rebellious? Was it not all those who left Egypt under the leadership of Moses?
