Whether for correction, or for his land, or for love, he causes it to happen.


“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, so that a flood of waters may cover you?


who made the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the chambers of the south;


You make darkness, and it is night, when all the animals of the forest come creeping out.


He sent darkness, and made the land dark; they rebelled against his words.


I will lead the blind by a road they do not know, by paths they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I will do, and I will not forsake them.


We grope like the blind along a wall, groping like those who have no eyes; we stumble at noon as in the twilight, among the vigorous as though we were dead.


“Therefore I am surely going to teach them, this time I am going to teach them my power and my might, and they shall know that my name is the Lord.”


Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it—the Lord is his name:


For lo, the one who forms the mountains, creates the wind, reveals his thoughts to mortals, makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth— the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name!


On that day, says the Lord God, I will make the sun go down at noon, and darken the earth in broad daylight.
