He divided his forces against them by night, he and his servants, and routed them and pursued them to Hobah, north of Damascus.


And they struck with blindness the men who were at the door of the house, both small and great, so that they were unable to find the door.


Then the Lord said to him, “Who gives speech to mortals? Who makes them mute or deaf, seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?


And now listen—the hand of the Lord is against you, and you will be blind for a while, unable to see the sun.” Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he went about groping for someone to lead him by the hand.


Since I could not see because of the brightness of that light, those who were with me took my hand and led me to Damascus.


And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and his sight was restored. Then he got up and was baptized,


For three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank.


In Damascus, the governor under King Aretas guarded the city of Damascus in order to seize me,


nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were already apostles before me, but I went away at once into Arabia, and afterwards I returned to Damascus.
