For the tabernacle of the Lord, which Moses had made in the wilderness, and the altar of burnt offering were at that time in the high place at Gibeon;


So the descendants went in and possessed the land, and you subdued before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gave them into their hands, with their kings and the peoples of the land, to do with them as they pleased.


you with your own hand drove out the nations, but them you planted; you afflicted the peoples, but them you set free;


He drove out nations before them; he apportioned them for a possession and settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.


You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it.


After he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance


“Ascend this mountain of the Abarim, Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, across from Jericho, and view the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites for a possession;


For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak later about another day.

For the Lord has driven out before you great and strong nations; and as for you, no one has been able to withstand you to this day.


and the Lord drove out before us all the peoples, the Amorites who lived in the land. Therefore we also will serve the Lord, for he is our God.”


So they maintained as their own Micah's idol that he had made, as long as the house of God was at Shiloh.


So the people sent to Shiloh, and brought from there the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, who is enthroned on the cherubim. The two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
