You shall observe the festival of harvest, of the first fruits of your labor, of what you sow in the field. You shall observe the festival of ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in from the field the fruit of your labor.


For I know their works and their thoughts, and I am coming to gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and shall see my glory,


The word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying:


And this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world, as a testimony to all the nations; and then the end will come.


For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day.


Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; this man was righteous and devout, looking forward to the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit rested on him.


Then one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who does not know the things that have taken place there in these days?”


Now among those who went up to worship at the festival were some Greeks.


He was a devout man who feared God with all his household; he gave alms generously to the people and prayed constantly to God.


When the angel who spoke to him had left, he called two of his slaves and a devout soldier from the ranks of those who served him,


But the Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city, and stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their region.


When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.


“A certain Ananias, who was a devout man according to the law and well spoken of by all the Jews living there,

provided that you continue securely established and steadfast in the faith, without shifting from the hope promised by the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven. I, Paul, became a servant of this gospel.
