And he will come to Zion as Redeemer, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression, says the Lord.


And as for me, this is my covenant with them, says the Lord: my spirit that is upon you, and my words that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouths of your children, or out of the mouths of your children's children, says the Lord, from now on and forever.


and I will never again hide my face from them, when I pour out my spirit upon the house of Israel, says the Lord God.


And I will pour out a spirit of compassion and supplication on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that, when they look on the one whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.


Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,


“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”


and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.


From that time Jesus began to proclaim, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”


and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news.”


The one who believes and is baptized will be saved; but the one who does not believe will be condemned.


and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.


And the crowds asked him, “What then should we do?”


All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”


So he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they invited him to stay for several days.

But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain God's gift with money!


Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?


In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace


he saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.


And baptism, which this prefigured, now saves you—not as a removal of dirt from the body, but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
