These things you have done and I have been silent; you thought that I was one just like yourself. But now I rebuke you, and lay the charge before you.


The sentinel says: “Morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire; come back again.”


They said to him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard.’


“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”


From that time Jesus began to proclaim, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”


and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news.”


So they went out and proclaimed that all should repent.


No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish just as they did.”


Just so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”


and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.


When they heard this, they were silenced. And they praised God, saying, “Then God has given even to the Gentiles the repentance that leads to life.”


In past generations he allowed all the nations to follow their own ways;


For as I went through the city and looked carefully at the objects of your worship, I found among them an altar with the inscription, ‘To an unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.


as I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus.


Repent therefore, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out,


And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind and to things that should not be done.


Or do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience? Do you not realize that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?


since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;


whom God put forward as a sacrifice of atonement by his blood, effective through faith. He did this to show his righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over the sins previously committed;


For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation and brings no regret, but worldly grief produces death.


You have already spent enough time in doing what the Gentiles like to do, living in licentiousness, passions, drunkenness, revels, carousing, and lawless idolatry.
