“I baptize you with water for repentance, but one who is more powerful than I is coming after me; I am not worthy to carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.


He proclaimed, “The one who is more powerful than I is coming after me; I am not worthy to stoop down and untie the thong of his sandals.


The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and declared, “Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!


And I myself have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.”


and as he watched Jesus walk by, he exclaimed, “Look, here is the Lamb of God!”


Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to complete his work.


Those who speak on their own seek their own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and there is nothing false in him.


For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, died, was laid beside his ancestors, and experienced corruption;


Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, in Jesus.”


But I do not count my life of any value to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God's grace.


For we do not proclaim ourselves; we proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus' sake.


I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.


When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the bottomless pit will make war on them and conquer them and kill them,
