And he said to humankind, ‘Truly, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.’ ”


for the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.


For the righteous will never be moved; they will be remembered forever.


Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.


The Lord knows the days of the blameless, and their heritage will abide forever;


The Lord loves those who hate evil; he guards the lives of his faithful; he rescues them from the hand of the wicked.


When the tempest passes, the wicked are no more, but the righteous are established forever.


Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.


What will one answer the messengers of the nation? “The Lord has founded Zion, and the needy among his people will find refuge in her.”


therefore thus says the Lord God, See, I am laying in Zion a foundation stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation: “One who trusts will not panic.”


We have long been like those whom you do not rule, like those not called by your name.


You shall leave your name to my chosen to use as a curse, and the Lord God will put you to death; but to his servants he will give a different name.

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and produce great signs and omens, to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.


Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,


Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers.’


The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock.


And they brought one. Then he said to them, “Whose head is this, and whose title?” They answered, “The emperor's.”


False messiahs and false prophets will appear and produce signs and omens, to lead astray, if possible, the elect.


But he will say, ‘I do not know where you come from; go away from me, all you evildoers!’


That one is like a man building a house, who dug deeply and laid the foundation on rock; when a flood arose, the river burst against that house but could not shake it, because it had been well built.


I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,


I am not speaking of all of you; I know whom I have chosen. But it is to fulfill the scripture, ‘The one who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.’


Whoever has accepted his testimony has certified this, that God is true.


and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for an entire year they met with the church and taught a great many people, and it was in Antioch that the disciples were first called “Christians.”


so that all other peoples may seek the Lord— even all the Gentiles over whom my name has been called. Thus says the Lord, who has been making these things


and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who invoke your name.”


God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?


Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good;


Thus I make it my ambition to proclaim the good news, not where Christ has already been named, so that I do not build on someone else's foundation,


and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, “Therefore I will confess you among the Gentiles, and sing praises to your name”;


We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.


Even before they had been born or had done anything good or bad (so that God's purpose of election might continue,


To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, together with all those who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours:


but anyone who loves God is known by him.


Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and of spirit, making holiness perfect in the fear of God.


Now, however, that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and beggarly elemental spirits? How can you want to be enslaved to them again?


built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.


from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name.


And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption.


if I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and bulwark of the truth.


thus storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of the life that really is life.


For he looked forward to the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.


Therefore, beloved, while you are waiting for these things, strive to be found by him at peace, without spot or blemish;


They went out from us, but they did not belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But by going out they made it plain that none of them belongs to us.


The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to ascend from the bottomless pit and go to destruction. they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.


“I know your works. Look, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
