When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come forth from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.


So his servants said to him, “Let a young virgin be sought for my lord the king, and let her wait on the king, and be his attendant; let her lie in your bosom, so that my lord the king may be warm.”


The time that Jeroboam reigned was twenty-two years; then he slept with his ancestors, and his son Nadab succeeded him.


Rehoboam slept with his ancestors and was buried with his ancestors in the city of David. His mother's name was Naamah the Ammonite. His son Abijam succeeded him.


Then David slept with his ancestors, and was buried in the city of David.


In those days the Lord began to send King Rezin of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah against Judah.
