Now therefore have all Israel assemble for me at Mount Carmel, with the four hundred fifty prophets of Baal and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel's table.”


Then Elijah said to the people, “I, even I only, am left a prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets number four hundred fifty.


Elijah said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal; do not let one of them escape.” Then they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the Wadi Kishon, and killed them there.


They rejected all the commandments of the Lord their God and made for themselves cast images of two calves; they made a sacred pole, worshiped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.


He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, though not like his father and mother, for he removed the pillar of Baal that his father had made.


Will you speak falsely for God, and speak deceitfully for him?


And why not say (as some people slander us by saying that we say), “Let us do evil so that good may come”? Their condemnation is deserved!


Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
