Asa did what was right in the sight of the Lord, as his father David had done.


But the high places were not taken out of Israel. Nevertheless the heart of Asa was true all his days.


So Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah. He was thirty-five years old when he began to reign; he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Azubah daughter of Shilhi.


Yet the high places were not removed; the people had not yet set their hearts upon the God of their ancestors.


For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.


The words of their mouths are mischief and deceit; they have ceased to act wisely and do good.
