Nevertheless, some good is found in you, for you destroyed the sacred poles out of the land, and have set your heart to seek God.”


For thus says the high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with those who are contrite and humble in spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.


Even if a tenth part remain in it, it will be burned again, like a terebinth or an oak whose stump remains standing when it is felled.” The holy seed is its stump.


The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end;


for he does not willingly afflict or grieve anyone.


We have transgressed and rebelled, and you have not forgiven.


Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time.
