Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but one who has a hasty temper exalts folly.


One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and one whose temper is controlled than one who captures a city.


Those with good sense are slow to anger, and it is their glory to overlook an offense.


Desire without knowledge is not good, and one who moves too hurriedly misses the way.


Do not say, “I will repay evil”; wait for the Lord, and he will help you.


do not hastily bring into court; for what will you do in the end, when your neighbor puts you to shame?


So the leaders partook of their provisions, and did not ask direction from the Lord.


Everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him; and he became captain over them. Those who were with him numbered about four hundred.


Then David and his men, who were about six hundred, set out and left Keilah; they wandered wherever they could go. When Saul was told that David had escaped from Keilah, he gave up the expedition.


So David's young men turned away, and came back and told him all this.


So David set out and went over, he and the six hundred men who were with him, to King Achish son of Maoch of Gath.
