David sent messengers to the people of Jabesh-gilead, and said to them, “May you be blessed by the Lord, because you showed this loyalty to Saul your lord, and buried him!


For the wicked boast of the desires of their heart, those greedy for gain curse and renounce the Lord.


Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at his word: Your own people who hate you and reject you for my name's sake have said, “Let the Lord be glorified, so that we may see your joy”; but it is they who shall be put to shame.
