And Jacob saw that Laban did not regard him as favorably as he did before.


Wrath is cruel, anger is overwhelming, but who is able to stand before jealousy?


Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from one person's envy of another. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.


Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or are you envious because I am generous?’


adultery, avarice, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, folly.


and do not make room for the devil.


Beloved, do not grumble against one another, so that you may not be judged. See, the Judge is standing at the doors!


The next day an evil spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he raved within his house, while David was playing the lyre, as he did day by day. Saul had his spear in his hand;


Saul was very angry, for this saying displeased him. He said, “They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed thousands; what more can he have but the kingdom?”


Saul spoke with his son Jonathan and with all his servants about killing David. But Saul's son Jonathan took great delight in David.
