Ben-abinadab, in all Naphath-dor (he had Taphath, Solomon's daughter, as his wife);


Jesse became the father of Eliab his firstborn, Abinadab the second, Shimea the third,


for Judah, Elihu, one of David's brothers; for Issachar, Omri son of Michael;


Yet the Lord God of Israel chose me from all my ancestral house to be king over Israel forever; for he chose Judah as leader, and in the house of Judah my father's house, and among my father's sons he took delight in making me king over all Israel.


Rehoboam took as his wife Mahalath daughter of Jerimoth son of David, and of Abihail daughter of Eliab son of Jesse.


Behold our shield, O God; look on the face of your anointed.


Then he said to Zebah and Zalmunna, “What about the men whom you killed at Tabor?” They answered, “As you are, so were they, every one of them; they resembled the sons of a king.”


The three eldest sons of Jesse had followed Saul to the battle; the names of his three sons who went to the battle were Eliab the firstborn, and next to him Abinadab, and the third Shammah.
