1 Kings 6:1 - New Revised Standard Version

The house that King Solomon built for the Lord was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high.


In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid, in the month of Ziv.


Grant to my son Solomon that with single mind he may keep your commandments, your decrees, and your statutes, performing all of them, and that he may build the temple for which I have made provision.”

These are Solomon's measurements for building the house of God: the length, in cubits of the old standard, was sixty cubits, and the width twenty cubits.


This was their reply to us: ‘We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the house that was built many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and finished.


He built his sanctuary like the high heavens, like the earth, which he has founded forever.
