Thus says the Lord: Where is your mother's bill of divorce with which I put her away? Or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? No, because of your sins you were sold, and for your transgressions your mother was put away.


If a man divorces his wife and she goes from him and becomes another man's wife, will he return to her? Would not such a land be greatly polluted? You have played the whore with many lovers; and would you return to me? says the Lord.


But I say to you that anyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of unchastity, causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.


and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”


Some Pharisees came, and to test him they asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”


“Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and whoever marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.


To the married I give this command—not I but the Lord—that the wife should not separate from her husband


To the rest I say—I and not the Lord—that if any believer has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, he should not divorce her.
