If a man lies with a woman and has an emission of semen, both of them shall bathe in water, and be unclean until the evening.


So the Jews said to the man who had been cured, “It is the sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your mat.”


For we know that the law is spiritual; but I am of the flesh, sold into slavery under sin.


Hence, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that “no idol in the world really exists,” and that “there is no God but one.”


If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we still more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.


but I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.


This was not because we do not have that right, but in order to give you an example to imitate.
