Shaul died, and Baal-hanan son of Achbor succeeded him as king.


The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedars as numerous as the sycamores of the Shephelah.


After the Israelites had been mustered and provisioned, they went out to engage them; the people of Israel encamped opposite them like two little flocks of goats, while the Arameans filled the country.


Solomon had twelve officials over all Israel, who provided food for the king and his household; each one had to make provision for one month in the year.
