Abraham breathed his last and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people.


And Isaac breathed his last; he died and was gathered to his people, old and full of days; and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.


King David was old and advanced in years; and although they covered him with clothes, he could not get warm.


Has this thing been brought about by my lord the king and you have not let your servants know who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?”


as I swore to you by the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Your son Solomon shall succeed me as king, and he shall sit on my throne in my place,’ so will I do this day.”


So Solomon sat on the throne of his father David; and his kingdom was firmly established.


David assembled all the leaders of Israel and the priests and the Levites.


And of all my sons, for the Lord has given me many, he has chosen my son Solomon to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.


He died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor; and his son Solomon succeeded him.


You shall come to your grave in ripe old age, as a shock of grain comes up to the threshing floor in its season.
