Now when the king was settled in his house, and the Lord had given him rest from all his enemies around him,


See, a son shall be born to you; he shall be a man of peace. I will give him peace from all his enemies on every side; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days.


For David said, “The Lord, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people; and he resides in Jerusalem forever.


Meanwhile the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and was built up. Living in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.


What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?


for it is the Lord your God who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to give you victory.”


Joshua took all these kings and their land at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.


And now the Lord your God has given rest to your kindred, as he promised them; therefore turn and go to your tents in the land where your possession lies, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side of the Jordan.


A long time afterward, when the Lord had given rest to Israel from all their enemies all around, and Joshua was old and well advanced in years,
