May the glory of the Lord endure for ever; may the Lord rejoice in his works –


May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the Lord.


The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.


I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done.


Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.


The righteous will rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in him; all the upright in heart will glory in him!


You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet:


May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendour to their children.


This is what the Lord says: ‘Sing with joy for Jacob; shout for the foremost of the nations. Make your praises heard, and say, “Lord, save your people, the remnant of Israel.”


and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour,


So with you: now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no-one will take away your joy.


But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.


‘Rejoice over her, you heavens! Rejoice, you people of God! Rejoice, apostles and prophets! For God has judged her with the judgment she imposed on you.’
