Remember me for this, my God, and do not blot out what I have so faithfully done for the house of my God and its services.


Then I commanded the Levites to purify themselves and go and guard the gates in order to keep the Sabbath day holy. Remember me for this also, my God, and show mercy to me according to your great love.


I also made provision for contributions of wood at designated times, and for the firstfruits. Remember me with favour, my God.


But the earlier governors – those preceding me – placed a heavy burden on the people and took forty shekels of silver from them in addition to food and wine. Their assistants also lorded it over the people. But out of reverence for God I did not act like that.


In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.


I will be careful to lead a blameless life – when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart.


Vindicate me, Lord, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the Lord and have not faltered.


But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; he will surely take me to himself.


No-one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them –


Come near and rescue me; deliver me because of my foes.


‘Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.’ And Hezekiah wept bitterly.


Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly.


You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed.


who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
