‘And now, Lord God, keep for ever the promise you have made concerning your servant and his house. Do as you promised,


I say to the Lord, ‘You are my God.’ Hear, Lord, my cry for mercy.


Hear me, Lord, my plea is just; listen to my cry. Hear my prayer – it does not rise from deceitful lips.


In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness.


In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me; turn your ear to me and save me.


Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill. Our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors have made Jerusalem and your people an object of scorn to all those around us.


If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
