Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, ‘Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.’ And God granted his request.


I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me; hear me when I call to you.


Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands towards your Most Holy Place.


To you, Lord, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy:


Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.


Save me, O God, by your name; vindicate me by your might.


Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.
