Psalm 136:1

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures for ever.


With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those chosen and designated by name to give thanks to the Lord, ‘for his love endures for ever.’


After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendour of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: ‘Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures for ever.’


When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshipped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, ‘He is good; his love endures for ever.’


The priests took up their positions, as did the Levites with the Lord’s musical instruments, which King David had made for praising the Lord and which were used when he gave thanks, saying, ‘His love endures for ever.’ Opposite the Levites, the priests blew their trumpets, and all the Israelites were standing.


With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord: ‘He is good; his love towards Israel endures for ever.’ And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.


For the Lord is good and his love endures for ever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.


But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children –


Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.


Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures for ever.

the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank-offerings to the house of the Lord, saying, ‘Give thanks to the Lord Almighty, for the Lord is good; his love endures for ever.’ For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,” says the Lord.


His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.
