the Angel who has delivered me from all harm – may he bless these boys. May they be called by my name and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and may they increase greatly on the earth.’


as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.


You came to greet him with rich blessings and placed a crown of pure gold on his head.


The Lord will rescue his servants; no-one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.


Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favour as with a shield.


For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.


You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance.


My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you – I whom you have delivered.


You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honour.


Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back.


In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,’ says the Lord your Redeemer.


Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.


And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
