How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!


Because I love your commands more than gold, more than pure gold,


The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.


They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.


How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver!


Gold there is, and rubies in abundance, but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.


A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.


Wisdom, like an inheritance, is a good thing and benefits those who see the sun.


What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?


Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so that we may obey it?’
