My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,


My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,


This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: ‘A voice of one calling in the wilderness, “Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.” ’


From that time on Jesus began to preach, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.’


And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.


and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.


On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.


But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’


‘Then the Lord said to me, “Go; I will send you far away to the Gentiles.”  ’


but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
