‘This is what you are to do to consecrate them, so that they may serve me as priests: take a young bull and two rams without defect.


Put them in a basket and present them in it – along with the bull and the two rams.


Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.


‘ “If the offering is a burnt offering from the herd, you are to offer a male without defect. You must present it at the entrance to the tent of meeting so that it will be acceptable to the Lord.


‘This is how Aaron is to enter the Most Holy Place: he must first bring a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering.


‘ “When anyone brings a grain offering to the Lord, their offering is to be of the finest flour. They are to pour olive oil on it, put incense on it


and the sin they committed becomes known, the assembly must bring a young bull as a sin offering and present it before the tent of meeting.

For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh,


God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
