The priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard them, for their prayer reached heaven, his holy dwelling-place.


Hezekiah assigned the priests and Levites to divisions – each of them according to their duties as priests or Levites – to offer burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, to minister, to give thanks and to sing praises at the gates of the Lord’s dwelling.


All the Israelites did just what the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron.


Instead, appoint the Levites to be in charge of the tabernacle of the covenant law – over all its furnishings and everything belonging to it. They are to carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; they are to take care of it and camp round it.


‘After you have purified the Levites and presented them as a wave offering, they are to come to do their work at the tent of meeting.


The Levites purified themselves and washed their clothes. Then Aaron presented them as a wave offering before the Lord and made atonement for them to purify them.
