For everyone belongs to me, the parent as well as the child – both alike belong to me. The one who sins is the one who will die.


I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will surely do these things to this whole wicked community, which has banded together against me. They will meet their end in this wilderness; here they will die.’


When Korah had gathered all his followers in opposition to them at the entrance to the tent of meeting, the glory of the Lord appeared to the entire assembly.


But 14,700 people died from the plague, in addition to those who had died because of Korah.


(Zelophehad son of Hepher had no sons; he had only daughters, whose names were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milkah and Tirzah.)


and stood before Moses, Eleazar the priest, the leaders and the whole assembly at the entrance to the tent of meeting and said,


Why should our father’s name disappear from his clan because he had no son? Give us property among our father’s relatives.’


Once more Jesus said to them, ‘I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I go, you cannot come.’


I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.’


Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned –


so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.


For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
