David went out to meet them and said to them, ‘If you have come to me in peace to help me, I am ready for you to join me. But if you have come to betray me to my enemies when my hands are free from violence, may the God of our ancestors see it and judge you.’


Too long have I lived among those who hate peace.


Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days,


that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.


Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.


and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.


But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.


The next day Moses came upon two Israelites who were fighting. He tried to reconcile them by saying, “Men, you are brothers; why do you want to hurt each other?”

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,


As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.


I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord.


Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.


Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no-one will see the Lord.
