wine that gladdens human hearts, oil to make their faces shine, and bread that sustains their hearts.


Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound.


He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.


I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh with my spice. I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk. Eat, friends, and drink; drink your fill of love.


On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine – the best of meats and the finest of wines.


After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.


The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.’


How attractive and beautiful they will be! Grain will make the young men thrive, and new wine the young women.


Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.


‘Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.’


For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.’


‘Then the King will say to those on his right, “Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.


This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.


When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
