All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him,


May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear him.


Sound the ram’s horn at the New Moon, and when the moon is full, on the day of our Feast;


On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast. Everyone in the camp trembled.


He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth.


They come from faraway lands, from the ends of the heavens – the Lord and the weapons of his wrath – to destroy the whole country.


And in that day a great trumpet will sound. Those who were perishing in Assyria and those who were exiled in Egypt will come and worship the Lord on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.


Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them.


I will say to the north, “Give them up!” and to the south, “Do not hold them back.” Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth –


‘Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.


Lift up your eyes and look around; all your children gather and come to you. As surely as I live,’ declares the Lord, ‘you will wear them all as ornaments; you will put them on, like a bride.


‘Lift up your eyes and look about you: all assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the hip.


Daniel said: ‘In my vision at night I looked, and there before me were the four winds of heaven churning up the great sea.


You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.


‘Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,’ declares the Lord, ‘for I have scattered you to the four winds of heaven,’ declares the Lord.


The angel answered me, ‘These are the four spirits of heaven, going out from standing in the presence of the Lord of the whole world.


I will take away the chariots from Ephraim and the warhorses from Jerusalem, and the battle-bow will be broken. He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.


Then the Lord will appear over them; his arrow will flash like lightning. The Sovereign Lord will sound the trumpet; he will march in the storms of the south,


The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.


‘If those days had not been cut short, no-one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.


For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.


‘Now learn this lesson from the fig-tree: as soon as its twigs become tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.


‘When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne.


Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.


And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.


and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.


and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one.


But I ask: did they not hear? Of course they did: ‘Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.’


in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.


to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfilment – to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.


Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens, from there the Lord your God will gather you and bring you back.


Ask now about the former days, long before your time, from the day God created human beings on the earth; ask from one end of the heavens to the other. Has anything so great as this ever happened, or has anything like it ever been heard of?


For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.


Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,


to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them,


The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.


The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: ‘The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.’


After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree.


And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.
