He told them, “You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.”


About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, “Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?”


From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land.


‘Come,’ he replied, ‘and you will see.’ So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon.


Jesus answered, ‘Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the day-time will not stumble, for they see by this world’s light.
