After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem


After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt


So he got up, took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel.


Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptised by John.


When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth.


They replied, ‘Are you from Galilee, too? Look into it, and you will find that a prophet does not come out of Galilee.’ [The earliest manuscripts and many other ancient witnesses do not have John 7:53–8:11.
