Then the man said, ‘Let me go, for it is daybreak.’ But Jacob replied, ‘I will not let you go unless you bless me.’


He struggled with the angel and overcame him; he wept and begged for his favour. He found him at Bethel and talked with him there –


Then those who were in the boat worshipped him, saying, ‘Truly you are the Son of God.’


He replied, ‘It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.’


The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, ‘Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!’


A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, ‘Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.’


‘It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.’


Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, ‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!’
