Cursed be their anger, so fierce, and their fury, so cruel! I will scatter them in Jacob and disperse them in Israel.


Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?


The bloodthirsty hate a person of integrity and seek to kill the upright.


‘But your eyes and your heart are set only on dishonest gain, on shedding innocent blood and on oppression and extortion.’


therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I will give you over to bloodshed and it will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you.


and had John beheaded in the prison.


John’s disciples came and took his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus.


Prompted by her mother, she said, ‘Give me here on a dish the head of John the Baptist.’


for they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets, and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.’


I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of God’s holy people, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus. When I saw her, I was greatly astonished.
