Their hearts are callous and unfeeling, but I delight in your law.


Whoever winks with their eye is plotting perversity; whoever purses their lips is bent on evil.


Such a person feeds on ashes; a deluded heart misleads him; he cannot save himself, or say, ‘Is not this thing in my right hand a lie?’


I have seen their ways, but I will heal them; I will guide them and restore comfort to Israel’s mourners,


Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.’


Heal me, Lord, and I shall be healed; save me and I shall be saved, for you are the one I praise.


The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?
