May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.’


For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, ‘Peace be within you.’


And whether they listen or fail to listen – for they are a rebellious people – they will know that a prophet has been among them.


Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave.


If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you.


You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.


We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: be reconciled to God.


I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face.


Say to him: “Long life to you! Good health to you and your household! And good health to all that is yours!
