Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.


While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the elders of the people.

Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat.


They came to Capernaum. When he was in the house, he asked them, ‘What were you arguing about on the road?’


The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.


Yet there are some of you who do not believe.’ For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him.


(He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him.)
