‘But you are not to be called “Rabbi”, for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.


Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.


‘Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.


‘What do you want me to do for you?’ he asked.


Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.


Jesus said to her, ‘Mary.’ She turned towards him and cried out in Aramaic, ‘Rabboni!’ (which means ‘Teacher’).


The commander took the young man by the hand, drew him aside and asked, ‘What is it you want to tell me?’


Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
