Your eyes will see the king in his beauty and view a land that stretches afar.


He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.


There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.


Afterwards Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country.


When all the people were being baptised, Jesus was baptised too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened


But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.


One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.


Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, ‘Who do the crowds say I am?’


Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendour, talking with Jesus.


The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.


All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.


Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.
